Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database Plug-in Release 12.1.0.4 provides complete monitoring and management functionality for Oracle Database, including Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1).

This document contains the following sections:

Installing Oracle Database Plug-in 12.1.0.4

The Oracle Database Plug-in 12.1.0.4 requires Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3). The process you will follow to deploy the plug-in to Oracle Management Service depends on your Cloud Control installation status, as outlined in the options below:

If You Have Not Yet Installed Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3)

You can install Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3), which is available for download from Oracle Technology Network. The Oracle Database Plug-in 12.1.0.4 will be deployed by default as part of the installation process.

You can get the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3) installation software from Oracle Technology Network (OTN) at the following location:

If You Have Not Yet Upgraded to Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 2 (12.1.0.2)

You can upgrade your existing Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 5 (10.2.0.5.0), Enterprise Manager 11g Grid Control Release 1 (11.1.0.1.0), Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1) (with or without Bundle Patch 1) or Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 2 (12.1.0.2) to Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3), which is available for download from Oracle Technology Network.

The Oracle Database Plug-in 12.1.0.4 will be deployed by default as part of the upgrade process.

If You Already Have Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3) Installed

You can download the Oracle Database Plug-in 12.1.0.4 to the Software Library using the Self Update feature, then deploy it to your Oracle Management Service (OMS).

Enabling Oracle Database Plug-in 12.1.0.4

Once the Oracle Database Plug-in has been successfully deployed, you can discover and promote Oracle Database targets to be managed and monitored by Enterprise Manager Cloud Control.
